This conversation is focused on the safety of physical bodies and buildings, specifically preventing and responding to bodily harm as well as enabling a safe physical environment. This includes crime prevention, emergency preparedness and response, and medical care on Harvard’s campus.

There are myriad reasons Harvard community members call for help, including but not limited to thefts, lock outs, medical crises, and after-hours escorts. In tandem, there are protocols and supports in place to promote bodily health and prevent bodily harm, from the HUHS multi-specialty medical practice providing urgent and primary care, to campus security, building fire and safety practices, and beyond.

The physical safety conversation will explore how current physical safety policies, procedures, and practices are experienced on Harvard’s campus when community members need help.
